E-mail and DNS settings migration 07/2024

07/2024

In July 2024, there was an update of the servers that operate email, webmail, and store domain DNS records.

The data from the original servers needed to be transferred to new servers. This is a large amount of data, and the process took several days.

By the end of the month, the migration was completed.

Email and webmail are functioning properly.

Domain DNS records were transferred and, in properly configured domains, without further complications.

Our teams continue to monitor the situation and assist users in resolving any subsequent issues.

1. Email migration

  • In rare cases, an inbox may seem to be missing. To recover the inbox, please contact us as soon as possible via customer support
  • Email clients (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) may not function properly. If you experience this, please check the email account settings according to our guides and if the situation persists, send us screenshots of your settings (mail servers and ports) to customer support, where we will assist you.
  • If there are delays in receiving messages and the email client is set up correctly, according to our guides, it's likely not to be related to recent changes but to the email clients themselves. In this case, we recommend contacting the email client provider.

2. DNS record migration

  • We have not encountered any complications with domains managed by Webnode.
  • For 3rd party registered domains that are not managed by Webnode but use Webnode nameservers, functionality will be limited. In such cases, please set the nameservers of your domain administrator and DNS records according to this guide, or contact our customer support, and we will be happy to help.
