In this guide, you will learn how to set up the Essential Compliance Plugin within the iubenda interface (hereafter referred to as the iubenda module). This is a supplementary article to the main article How to Purchase the iubenda Service, so we recommend starting with the main guide when setting up the service.
The system automatically performs the basic setup for you upon purchasing the service, and the module is automatically added directly to your website. However, this is a general setup that applies to U.S. and EU laws. If you wish to configure advanced settings (such as modifying applicable laws, adding third-party cookie consent, etc.), you can do so in the iubenda service’s admin interface. A complete help guide for the iubenda module can be found directly on the iubenda website.
1. After purchasing the service, you can proceed with the setup through your project administration, where you select the Iubenda Cookies & Compliance option under the Plugins tab.
2. Click Set Up in the Privacy Policy section. This button will redirect you to the iubenda module’s website, where an account has been automatically created for you using the email you have set up in Webnode – we generally recommend logging into the interface via this link.
3. Continue by clicking Next.
4. At this point, enter your company’s address and email address and proceed again by clicking Next.
5. An information window will now appear, allowing you to verify the entered details. If everything is correct, continue again by clicking Next.
6. The iubenda plugin is now successfully configured, and you can enable it in your website administration. If you have an active standard cookie banner in Webnode, it will be replaced with the iubenda module’s banner.
TIP: The Essential Compliance Plugin allows you to insert documents using only one language. However, if you have a multilingual website (e.g., English and German) and want to display the English version on both language versions of the site, you need to enable the service in the Webnode interface for both languages.
