In this guide, you’ll learn how to add and edit blog posts, as well as adjust their settings. If you haven’t added a blog to your site yet, you can follow the guide How to Add a Blog.
Adding a New Post
1. To add a new post, click on the blog feed and select Add blog post.
2. Alternatively, click on Blog posts in the editor at the top left.
3. Then choose Add blog post.
4. Enter the title of the new post and confirm by clicking Create. If you have a category set up in your blog, you can add the post directly to it.
Editing a Post
1. You can edit a post by clicking on its title.
2. The post title can be renamed by clicking on it.
3. Edit the post the same way you would edit any other text block.
4. Once the post is ready, you can press the Publish button for your website.
Post Settings
Click on the Manage posts button (or the Blog posts option in the editor at the top left) to access additional post settings.
Draft or Schedule Post
You can publish the post immediately, save it as a draft, or schedule it for later publication. If you choose to schedule, the post will be automatically published on the chosen date.
To set a publication date, click on Schedule publishing and enter the desired date for publication.
Locking a Post
You can lock the post, so it will be accessible only to registered users. This option works similarly to page locking. More information can be found in our help articles How to Add Membership Registration to Your Website and Allowing Access to Password Protected Pages.
Preview Thumbnail Image
By default, the preview thumbnail of the post displays the first image inserted into the post. You can set a custom preview image that will be shown on your blog feeds and when sharing the post on social media.
SEO Settings
Optimize the post for search engines by clicking on the SEO Settings option. In the URL field, you can change the page address where the post is located (e.g.: "www.mywebsite/l/my-new-post").
Deleting and Copying Posts
To delete a post, select the one you want to delete and click Delete post. You can also create a copy of a post, which is useful if you are creating a new post similar to an existing one.
