In this tutorial, you will learn how you can lock individual pages of your website. This function is useful if you are still working on the site and do not want all of its pages to be publicly visible, or if you need pages for registered users only. Locked pages are also not displayed in search results. Unregistered website visitors and search engine bots cannot access locked pages.
Page locking is possible with all plans, including free, but registration and allowing access to users is only possible with the Standard (up to 100 users) or Profi (unlimited number of users) plans. Instructions for allowing access to users can be found in the article Allowing access to password protected pages.
ATTENTION: Locking is only possible for classic website pages or blog articles. Product cards cannot be locked.
1. Click on Pages to lock a page.
2. Select the desired page and then click the Restrict access to page button.
TIP: If you restrict access to only the home page, all pages of the site will be locked.
3. If you wish to create a new page that will be automatically password-protected, select the Member area template when creating it.
4. Now two system pages, User Login and User Registration, will be created automatically. You can edit these according to the instructions How to edit user login and registration pages.
TIP: You can unlock the page according to the instructions How to Disable Membership Registration.
