In this guide, you will learn how to determine whether your email inbox is created using the new or the previous versions of webmail. Both types of webmail have slightly different features and settings. You can find more information in our Email Services section.

Identifying Characteristics:

Incoming email regarding mailbox creation (Incoming and outgoing mail servers)

If the email confirming the mailbox creation lists the servers mail1.webnode.com, mail2.webnode.com, or mail3.webnode.com, it means you are using the original webmail.

If the email lists the servers imap.mail.webnode.com and smtp.mail.webnode.com, it means you are using the new webmail.

Webmail Appearance

If you are using the original webmail, your inbox looks like this:

If you are using the new webmail, your inbox looks like this:

Mail Forwarding Field

If you see a mail forwarding field when creating or editing an email mailbox, you are using the original webmail.

If the forwarding field is not visible, you are using the new webmail. In the new webmail, you can set up mail forwarding by following the guide How to Set Up Email Forwarding in the New Webnode Webmail.
