Stripe is an external payment solution that allows you to accept credit card payments in your online store. To accept online payments, you need to complete the Stripe account setup.
Customers do not need to have a Stripe account; Stripe acts as the payment gateway. They just need to have a Visa, Mastercard, or Maestro credit or debit card.
NOTE: To try a test order in your online store, you will need to enter an amount of at least $0.50 (0.50 €), as Stripe has a minimum amount that can be processed.
1. Add a payment method according to the instructions on How to Set up Payment Methods.
2. In the list of payment methods, select Stripe.
3. Click the Connect with Stripe button, and you will be redirected to the Stripe account setup page.
4. In the open window, fill in the required details, such as your website name, company name, business ID, address, and banking information including account number, IBAN, and more.
5. After entering the necessary details and securing your account, click the blue button to authorize access to your account.
6. If the setup was done correctly, you will be redirected back to the Webnode administration page, and a window will appear with your successfully connected Stripe payment method now visible. If desired, you can now set the price, price excluding VAT, and VAT rate for this payment method, then save the settings.
7. Your customer can now choose to pay using Stripe when placing an order. Payments made through the payment gateway will be transferred to your account.
Payment Transfers to Your Account
Transfers from your Stripe account to your bank account proceed according to the details you set up in your Stripe account's admin interface. You can change these options in the "Transfers" tab. You will also find an overview of transfers from Stripe to your account in your Stripe admin interface. Keep in mind that transfers are made only on business days, so the transfer time may take a few days.
The first transfer to your account takes 7-14 days from the first successful payment. This period is for verifying and setting up your account. Subsequent payments are made according to the options you set up. More information about payouts to your account is available here.
